Navratri 2026 Starts on 11 October. Dress for Nine Nights.

Sharad Navratri 2026 begins on Sunday, 11 October, with Ghatasthapana, and the nine nights run through Maha Navami on 19 October. Dussehra follows on 20 October. In Surat that is not a single outfit. It is a week of nights, and the saree has to survive the circle.

One cloth for the lamp, one for the floor

Daytime puja wants a cleaner ground and a border you can bow in. Night garba wants a cloth that catches light only when you turn. The champagne jacquard in the studio does the second job: floral sequin on a gold ground, enough shimmer for a lawn, not so much that the face disappears.

Do not plan nine matching lehengas if what you actually own is three good sarees. Rotate a jewel ground, a gold, and a deeper maroon. Colour calendars differ by family and by city. Wear what your circle keeps, and keep the drape identical so you are not relearning pleats at 9 p.m.

Movement is the fit

Pleats should be narrow and firmly tucked. A heavy pin through the pallu will pull the moment you raise your arms. Safety-pin the pallu at the shoulder only, and let the length sit above the wrist so it does not catch a dandiya stick. Choose a blouse you can lift your arms in. A sleeve that binds is the first thing people regret.

See the champagne jacquard in motion, not only on a hanger. If the sequin lies flat and the fall is even, it will still look finished when the garba ends.
